CrossCountry trains say they're unable to try out a Sunday morning train service between Leicester and Peterborough
after the Government paused electrification work on the Midland mainline. There were initially plans to try out two earlier Sunday services whilst the line through Melton, Oakham and Stamford was opened up during that work. But MP Alicia Kearns was told after residents asked of the possibility, it's no longer possible to trial extra trains as that work could well have been shelved for good. She says she will continue to explore options for a Sunday morning train service with operators.
