A Rutland rock band who achieved national recognition in the early 80s are staging a mini tour starting tonight in Stamford.
The Amber Squad play Mamma Liz's Voodoo Lounge, then the following night, Derby's Victoria Inn, and the iconic Hope & Anchor in London on Saturday. Lead vocalist of the Amber Squad, Richard Beechey, says they're really enjoying their second coming.
"We got together and played our first gig at the Victoria Hall, I think, in 2016. And that's been nine years, so we've been together now for over twice as long as we were originally, when we started in 1978. So, yeah, I mean, as long as people still want to come and see us and we're fit and able enough to do it, then we'll just carry on, I think."
