Two new swales have been built next to Whissendine Brook to help manage flooding in the village.
They are at the bottom of a farmers field near Pickwell Lane. They have been funded by Aviva and WWF UK as part of a nationwide strategy. They have been built by the Trent Rivers Trust. The idea is that they can contain a large amount of excess water, and due to the design, let it back in slowly to combat extreme rainfall events
