Stamford’s MP and Stamford Civic Society have stepped in to make sure urgent maintenance work has been done at Stamford Railway Station.
The station, which is Grade II star listed, needs woodwork painting on platform two, including the waiting room. Overhanging tree branches have already been cut back there. East Midlands Railway is working with Network Rail to see if it's possible to paint the station bridge too. As part of their work, Alicia Kearns also raised concerns about the condition of bike parking and the storage area and the lighting in that area too. East Midlands Railway say they'll consider it in future work plans.
