Volunteering is in the spotlight at Rutland Libraries this week.
Volunteer Rutland, which is a Citizens Advice initiative, is visiting Ketton Library this morning, Uppingham this afternoon, and Oakham and Ryhall tomorrow. The Volunteer Plus website has a list of current vacancies from voluntary groups across the county. Regular meetings are also held to support the voluntary and community sector, thanks to a grant by Rutland County Council. Community Development Officer at Citizens Advice Rutland, Suzanne Evans says it all helps raise awareness of what they offer.
‘Yeah, people appreciate it when we come out of the towns, out to their villages and there's always people keen to learn what is happening and what else could we be getting involved with. Or if there are issues they need help with as well so yeah, it's always good’.
