With Rutland and Stamford's Cancer Research UK fundraisers just days away,
there's still a chance to help out on the day or register to take part in the event. Entries to take part will be taken on the day of the Pretty Muddy at the Rutland Showground on Saturday the 20th of June and the Race for Life at Burghley House on Tuesday evening the 30th, although volunteer applications need to be in advance. Marshalls are especially needed to the obstacles at the Pretty Muddy event a week tomorrow near Oakham. Natalie Owen explains more.
‘We've got our obstacle marshalls, which would be based on the obstacles and be cheering people on, guiding participants over the obstacles. We've got the start/finish team, which would help to get the participants started on the start line and then also help to hand out the medals and the water at the finish. So that's a really rewarding role to be able to see people start the event and also come over the finish line as well and then we also have our inquiries team which would help with any queries that are participants may have on the day. So there's lots to be getting involved with.’
