In Division 1, Stamford Bells won 2-1 at home against Bourne Town Reserves. Shaun Archer and Keenan Murphy the scorers. Ketton Sports Premiair suffered their first league defeat, 4-0 at Netherton United Reserves.
Blackstones, despite taking the lead through Ed Thorpe suffered a 3-1 defeat at Leicester Nirvana in the United Counties Premier Division.
Cottesmore secured their first win in September, 4-1 at home to bottom side Thurnby Rangers in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. The goals coming from Leon Kavanagh with two, Josh Clark and Connor Heard.
Deeping Rangers are out of the Sports Ground Development United Counties Cup after losing 4-3 on penalties to Ashby Ivanhoe in the First Round. This was after Callum Davies and Scott Floyd had brought it to 2-2.
Women’s Football
Stamford AFC have their first point of the East Midlands Regional Premier Division season drawing 2-2 against Grimsby Town Academy at home. Bryony Fox and Poppy Gibson with the goals.
In Division 1 Central and Oakham United are also underway following their 1-1 draw away to Thurmaston DPC Vixens with Zina Cheikh on target for them.
Deeping Rangers made it three draws in a row in the Cambridgeshire League Division 1. This time 3-3 to visitors March Town United. Gabs Bieliauskaite, Yas Green and Dita Upesjure scoring.
Rugby
Leicester Tigers despite scoring six tries including a hat-trick from Gabriel Hamer-Webb were beaten 40-38 at home by Saracens in their English Gallagher Premiership opener.
Women’s Rugby
Stamford Women’s life in Women's NC 1 Midlands (West) has started with a defeat at home by 27 points to 17 in a tough game against Stafford. Gemma Alcoran with two tries and a try from Hannah Dennis plus a conversion from Daisy Attley with their points.
The Stamford Storm game was cancelled against Crusaders.
