Leicestershire & Rutland League:
Oakham 1sts beat Houghton & Thurnby 1sts by 89 runs thanks to Robert Taylor 127 not out and Steve Flowers 109 in the Premier Division with the 2nds, despite 125 from Fred Cox losing to Cosby 1sts by six wickets in Division 4 East. In Division 9 East, the 3rd X1 won by nine-wickets to end Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts unbeaten run.
Uppingham Town 1sts won at Egerton Park 1sts by 82 runs in Division 1, whilst the 2nds lost by four runs to Great Glen 1sts in Division 5 East. The 3rds beat Barkby United 3rd X1 by 51 runs with Jack James taking 5-39 in Division 9 East.
Congratulation to Market Overton 1sts who have clinched an immediate return to Division 6 East after a 140 run victory over Houghton & Thurnby 3rd XI. Earlier, Joe Peveritt hit 139. The 2nds in Division 9 East made it back-to-wins with a four-wicket victory over Houghton & Thurnby 4th XI who were all out for 74.
Lincolnshire Cricket Board Premier League:
Burghley Park 1sts lost by three wickets away at 2nd placed Lindum 1sts.
South Lincs & Border League
Ketton Sports 1sts were beaten at Woodhall Spa 2nds by 102 runs in the Championship.
In Division 3, Ketton Sport 2nds won by eight wickets after dismissing Royal Boston 2nds for 57 with Uffington 1sts fixture conceded by Boston 3rd XI.
Huntingdonshire League Division 2:
Stamford Town 2nds lost their final game by four wickets to Sheikh 11 1sts.
Rutland League:
Oakham 1sts already relegated ended on a high as they beat Peterborough Town 1sts by 33 runs with Ed Siddle making 96. Despite the result Peterborough Town 1sts can still mathematically catch Burghley Park 1sts who are top of Division 1.
To Division 2 and Uppingham Town lost by three wickets after all out for 108 at Wellingborough Indians 1sts.
Uffington 1sts have leaped frogged East Carlton 1sts to finish second after they beat them by three-wickets to return to Division 1 for the first time since 2022. Tom Wilkin guiding them home with 77 not out.
Ketton Sports 1sts were beaten by United Sports 1sts by 49 runs in Division 3.
In Division 4 East, Market Overton 1sts made 321-4, which included a maiden century, 103 not out for Charlie Milner as they won by 111 runs at United Sports 2nds. Uffington 2nds lost by 111 runs at Oundle Town 1sts in Division 4 West.
Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2:
Burghley Park 2nds won by 173 runs at Buckminster who were all out for 126, Matthew Davies with 100 not out earlier, whilst Stamford Town 2nds lost to Hallaton Stars 1sts by three wickets.
Women’s Cricket
Market Overton 1sts lost by three runs to Plumtree 1sts in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Division 1.
Football
Peterborough United is still without a win in League One after losing 3-2 at Huddersfield Town. Debutant Jimmy-Jay Mogan and Cian Haynes on target.
The Daniels still await their first league win also after a 2-0 defeat at home to Bury Town in the Southern League Premier Central.
In Division 1 of the Peterborough and District League, Daniels Reserves lost 4-0 away at Yaxley Reserves.
Cottesmore lost 5-4 at Lutterworth Athletic Reserves so remain pointless in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. Harrison McLoughlin with two, Josh Clark and Steven Jucikas with the goals.
Bourne Town are out of the FA Trophy after losing 2-0 at home to AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
The Peterborough & District League Senior Cup 1st Round saw Stamford Bells win on penalties after 1-1 at full-time, Luke Cramp goal against Warboys Town, whilst Uppingham Town losing 4-2, Ollie Lewin and Martin Turiccki with their goals to Deeping Rangers Reserves.
In the Challenge Cup First Round, Ketton Sports Premiair beat Netherton United Reserves 3-2, Nathan Bedford, Jacob Hoffman and Seb Mills scoring. Stamford Lions lost 5-0 to Glinton & Northborough.
United Counties Football League, Sports Ground Development Cup Preliminary Round and Blackstones went out 4-3 on penalties at Dronfield Town after 0-0 at full-time, whilst Deeping Rangers were beaten 1-0 at Retford United.
Women’s Football
Stamford AFC lost 3-1 away to Mansfield Town Ladies First after Gina Shaw had given them the lead in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Premier Division.
In the Leicestershire Womens League Division 1, Oakham United were beaten 5-4 at home by Saffron Dynamo Ladies. Zina Cheikh, Gemma Davies, Chloe Finch and Beth Munton with the goals.
Cambridgeshire Women’s League Division 1 saw Ketton Sports go down 6-0 at Newmarket Town Development and Deeping Rangers lost at home to Leverington Sports 3-2, Kara Butler and Ali Stokoe on target
Rugby
Not the start that promoted Stamford were looking for at Bedford Athletic in Regional 2 Midlands East losing 64-27.
Counties 1 Midlands East (North) saw Bourne start their season with a 37-19 win over Mellish.
In Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North), Oakham beat Market Harborough 2nds 24-12. Tries for Angus Boyle, Thomas Cann, Pex Koriveibau and Ratu Koroibulileka and two Lewis Crellin conversions but Stamford College Old Boys lost 33-5, a Neil Bryant try away at Rugby St Andrews.
