Football

Leicester City’s relegation worries have increased after losing 1-0 at home to Swansea City.

Peterborough United lost 3-1 at Blackpool, where the game was held up for 23 minutes in the second half following a medical emergency in the crowd.

The Daniels got a useful point in a 0-0 draw at Bury Town, which sees them remain outside the bottom four.

In the Peterborough and District League Premier Division, Uppingham Town made it three wins in a week, 6-1 at bottom side Whaplode Drove Rovers to complete a league double. The goals coming from Henry Moxley with two, Sam Blackwell, Josh Porter, Fynn Seggie and an own goal.

Oakham United was beaten 2-1 at home by Eye Rangers, Charlie Willis with the goal.

Now to Division 1 and Ketton Sports Premiair extended their unbeaten run to six in all competitions at Glinton & Northborough with a 3-1 win. Thanks to goals from Nathan Ball, Kai Haggett-King and an own goal.

Stamford Lions produced an excellent home performance beating 4th placed Yaxley Reserves 2-1. Taylor Gilbert with both.

Bourne Town went down 2-1 at Abbey Lawn against Carlton Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Zac Allen with the goal.

To the United Counties Premier Division North and Blackstones are out of the bottom two after coming back twice in a 2-2 draw against 2nd placed Sherwood Colliery at home. Cal Davies and Josh Sennett with those crucial goals.

Deeping Rangers in their last game of the season ended on a high against visitors Newark Town, 1-0. Spencer Tinkler with the goal.

Cottesmore are now unbeaten in eight home games in all competitions following their 3-1 win over Highfield Rangers in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. A Craig McJanet brace and Leon Kavanagh with the goals.

Women’s Football

Oakham United returned to winning ways in the Leicestershire Women’s League Division 1, 4-0 at home against Allexton & New Parks. Zina Cheikh scoring two and one each for Remmie Ferla and Alicia King. The two meet again in a fortnight.

To the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Division 1 and Deeping Rangers beat visitors Waterbeach Colts, 3-0. The goals coming from Grace Bradford, Yas Green and Ali Stokoe.

Rugby

Bourne made it five wins in a row and league double in Counties 1 Midlands East (North) as they won on the road at Keyworth, 43-15.

To Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North) and Stamford College Boys produced an excellent performance at home against 6th placed Birstall by 45 points to 12 as they scored seven tries. Ryan Whitmore with two and one each for Eric Denechau, Sam Duncan, Sam Durman, Liam Greenslade and Jimmy Twose. Callum Fraser with five conversions.

It was not to be for Oakham as they lost 39-17 against 3rd placed Sileby Town. The Oakham points coming from tries by Lewis Crellin, Ratu Korobulieka and Sam Weatherall scoring for the fifth game in a row. Lewis Crellin also adding a conversion.
