A world champion darts player from Deeping is calling for more testing for prostate cancer.
Martin 'Wolfie' Adams, who is an ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK since he had the condition 10 years ago, is calling for men, particularly for those with the disease and their family to get tested. He was speaking outside Cuts ‘n’ More in Stamford after drawing their raffle for Prostate Cancer.UK, which raised over £2,200.
'It's one of those things where they want to do regular checks on patients and so forth. There seems to be some reluctance by the health authorities to actually get that up and running. Chris Hoy is pushing for it I know that. Prostrate Cancer UK themselves are pushing for it. We will get there at some point but if you feel you know you've got to be 50 but I would say no. I've had it. My son is 40 something. I've already told him. I said if you want a PSA blood test. So he going to asking for it. If they say no, I say you tell me and I'm going come up there with you and I will demand it as a previous sufferer. So yeah, without a doubt. He's got to be firm and say look, I want that, it's in my family, need to know’.
