Rutland County Museum events

Over 150 people attended a pop-up planetarium last Wednesday at Rutland County Museum, held on the same day as the evening solar eclipse.

The travelling show, based in Bristol, which often goes into schools, held five performances explaining about the solar system, space and stars. Rutland County Council hopes to hold more events like this in the future.

Today and next Wednesday, they've got sizzling summer crafts alongside the virtual reality headsets explaining the story of the Rutland Seadragon to ages seven and over, and a special 3D projection sandpit. The museum's expected to close later this year for a time as redevelopment works get underway.
