Victoria Hall in Oakham goes to auction today after trustees were unable to secure a long-term future for the building.
The guide price is just £55,000. The Grade II listed building was built in the 19th century as the agricultural hall for local farmers. It currently has one tenant, a dog grooming business, but it has previously housed an art gallery, banking, and many community and celebration events.
It was hoped Oakham Town Council could move back in there, but when the council failed to agree terms, the trustees felt they had no alternative but to look for new owners.
