Speaking in a cross-party debate last night in the House of Commons, Alicia Kearns says she's had many complaints from residents about letters taking weeks or even months to arrive.
Long delays in delivering post across Rutland and Stamford were highlighted in parliament last night in a cross-party debate brought about by the back bench business committee. Many MPs spoke about a Royal Mail which they say has become more broken in the last 18 months since the company was sold to a Czech Billionnaire. It’s understood as part of the sale, the government retained some control, including a commitment for the service to deliver first class letters 6 days a week, and second class every other day. Alicia Kearns says she can name many instances in her constituency where that doesn’t happen.
