Woman falls from A1 bridge near Casterton

Leicestershire Police led the investigation at the scene

The A1 was closed for much of Friday during the day as Police investigated the scene.

The A1 was closed on the Rutland/Stamford border today after a woman fell from a bridge near Great Casterton. Just before 10 this morning, Police attended with colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service, including the Air Ambulance, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and file will be prepared for the coroner.
