Northampton and Rutland Open Studios, Creatives at the Castle

NORTHAMPTON AND RUTLAND OPEN STUDIOS;This year for the first time Oakham Castle will participate in the NROS, 11 local artists, “Creatives at the Castle", with a varied range of photography, paintings, prints, mosaic, ceramics, sculpture and glass will be exhibiting over the weekend 6th & 7th September between 10am and 4pm, free entrance to all, with refreshments available from the castle tea-room. The Victoria Hall will also exhibiting "Oakham Art Collective" 7 local artists featuring oils, pastels, acrylics, mixed media, watercolours and textiles from the 3rd to 7th and 10th to 14th September Brochures for all of these and much more are available from the castle, numerous shops and hotels around the town and county with flyers and maps to help those who would like to explore what Northampton and Rutland Open and these counties have to offer. There are 400 artist taking part this year in NROS from 3rd Sept to the 4th October with numerous artists opening their studios over certain dates, all welcoming the general public to come and see what they have been creating. It’s all free!!On top of this, NROS has its central exhibition, which is held at the beautiful location of Lamport Hall, between Market Harborough and Northampton from 6th September to the 4th October, every Wednesday- Sunday 10am - 4pm Here you will find over 500 stunning artworks from 270 talented artists, all under one roof. What's more car parking and entrance to all of these events is free. For the serious art explorers, in the back of each the brochure is a chance to win £250 to spend with an NROS artist/s by filling out a visitors’ survey and collecting 8 stamps from 8 different venues.Simply fill in your details and hand it in to one of the artists or take a photo and send it to hello@nros.co.uk Not only is September the chance to see and purchase a variety of original art works, prints etc its also the place to find a varied selection of workshops available. So if your struggling to find a gift for someone or want to try something new, this is where to start. There is so much available, pick up a brochure and visit us across Rutland to name a few, Buckminster, Clipsham, Bourne to Wing, Stamford. Then North Northants, Cotterstock, Woodnewton, Laxton and Oundle. South Northants and Central Northants you will find numerous small rural studios, right through to the large central exhibition at Lamport Hall.
