The A1 has reopened both ways this morning between Peterborough and Wansford after two lorries collided in the early hours of yesterday morning with both drivers being taken to hospital.
Police say two Scania trucks collided on the A1 northbound near Stibbington just before 3:00 AM yesterday morning. A 43-year-old man from Saltburn Cleveland suffered serious injuries. The other, a 50-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst over the drug drive limit and possession of cannabis. Police are asking for anyone who saw the vehicles before or at the collision or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
