There's a chance to banish the January Blues by crafting this afternoon.
The United Reform Church Hall on Broad Street in Stamford sees the Art Pop-Up team back this afternoon with a craft afternoon between 2:00pm and 4:00pm where an artist will lead some crafting. There will be crocheting as well. And it's all also in preparation for Blue Monday tomorrow where characters are going to be placed around the town for people to find. Rose Croft explains.
‘We have a creative crafternoon event where we are bringing back our make space events. So we're meeting on a Sunday for a couple of hours. We have asked artist Ann Bellamy to come in and she's going to show us how to create some lovely little cheerful characters in her art style. And we're going to have lots of other crafty things going on. There will be, you know, teas and coffees. There's always cake at our cheer club events as well. And then on the Monday, which is actually Blue Monday, which I think is one of those days that a lot of people aren't happy on, we are getting together our cheer club community and we're going to do a little art drop around Stamford town centre’.
