Braunston All Saints Church and the local branch of Riding for the Disabled are set to benefit
from this year's Braunston May Fayre, which is taking place today in the village between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Thousands of visitors are expected and records of an event in the village stretch back 100 years. Kitty Ellis is on the committee and says there's lots going on in the centre of the village as well as their popular dog show.
’Yes. So this year we've got great performances from the Rutland Big Band and Ryda doing a street dance performance. We've obviously got our traditional Maypole dancing as well and with the crowning of the May Queen, which would be amazing. And we've got a normal street market which this year composes of 30 street vendors. We've got 16 craft stores in the church as well and woodworking demonstrations. So there's an awful lot going on on the day’.
