Brooke Road in Oakham is reopening this evening at 5:00pm and will fully reopen after the weekend.
The diversion will temporarily return on Sunday as Network Rail are doing scheduled work at the level crossing between 7:30am and 2:30pm. Rutland County Council and Burmor Construction are thanking local residents and businesses for what they call their considerable patience. The closure began on the 22nd of July and was extended after they needed more time to work on the utilities for 40 new affordable homes at the old allotment site. The carriageway has been widened between Derwent Drive and Cricket Lawns to help reduce traffic and congestion in that area of Oakham.
