Rutland's new on demand bus services carried well over 5,000 passengers since it began in March.
The CallConnect minibus service was rolled out across the whole county at the end of the summer, meaning 20 villages in Rutland have access to public transport for the first time. Figures released by Rutland County Council say more than 5,200 passengers have been carried during the first six months of the new service. In addition to the expanded coverage, most residents in Rutland now have access to free bus travel until March next year. Thanks to the widened service zones and the continued operation of the county’s two Town Hopper services in Oakham and Uppingham. These complement the on demand travel options and the service buses, including the R1.
