Stamford’s two county councillors have jointly called for a meeting with Lincolnshire's new head of highways
over plans to completely close the Town Bridge for six weeks over the summer. Independent Richard Cleaver and Conservative Callum Cooke have written to councillor Michael Cheyne, of Reform UK, asking him to urgently review the decision and meet with them to discuss alternative options saying the effect of a six week closure could be catastrophic and be a massive blow to the town's businesses.
