The government has declined an amendment by Rutland's MP to protect our county status
in upcoming local government reorganisation. Alicia Kearns calls it a last opportunity to amend the Lieutenancies Act, where Rutland is missing because it was drawn up before the county returned in 1997.The MP hopes another bill will come forward after local government reorganisation takes place. She's worried though that time is against us and it will get forgotten.
