Rutland County Council is making cuts to school sports in Rutland, saying it can't continue to subsidise the current school sports partnership, which includes several schools outside the county.
It has seen the decline in schools in the county taking part over recent years, as more schools have become part of larger groups. The programme is part funded by Sport England and delivered through Active Rutland. Council says it's eager to collaborate with schools to develop a sustainable and inclusive model for school sports in Rutland, saying that the new provision needs to meet the needs of all children and young people in the county. It's hoped that a school will take on the running of the new provision.
