Up to 20 local organisations ranging from Rutland County Council to Age UK and Men in Sheds will be available to chat to the public at a special event in Oakham today.
It all takes place between 10:00am and 2:00pm on the Plaza outside Tesco, and it's being run by the store's Community Champions team, whose role involves encouraging links between the public and local organisations. There's a chance for anyone to chat to these organisations and they'll be explaining to the public what their role is and whether there are opportunities to become more involved. Tesco is organising the event because they say they are often approached by locals in the store who want help to find information about all sorts of things including how to serve the neighbourhood and how to start a new hobby.
