Heavy rain after snow has caused major problems in our area, particularly in north Rutland.
Several schools have closed as not enough staff can get in, including Catmose College Primary and Harrington School, Whissendine, Langham, and St. Nicks at Cottesmore. Roads in Whissendine, Ashwell, and Wymondham are underwater. A blockage of broken down vehicles at Langham on the A606 is now being cleared. The A47 at Belton and Allexton has a similar problem. Cross Country trains are suspended for now with road transport connecting Leicester to Peterborough expected to call at Melton, Oakham and Stamford, although there's still major issues on the road between Melton and Oakham.
