A 10 year groundbreaking national study looking at physical activity of women in the forces has been launched at Kendrew Barracks Cottesmore.
The Tri Service 20 million pound research programme looks at exercise, nutrition, and even designing kits to make sure it's optimised for female recruits. It's only been 10 years since the government allowed women to serve in ground close combat roles. It's hoped the study can help recruit and retain female personnel as well as ensure they become the best at their job whatever their role by optimising their performance.
