It's the last day to have your say on Heidelberg Materials plans to extend their quarrying from Ketton towards Empingham.
Castle Cement is applying to Rutland County Council to build new access from the A606, a security gatehouse, a bridleway bridge and associated works to allow the continued supply of minerals to Ketton Cement works which they plan to restore over time. Campaigners against Grange Top quarries expansion say if permission is granted the proposed extension will cause disruption to their landscape until 2060 and that the new access near Shacklewell Hollow is unnecessary. You can have your say on Rutland County Council's planning portal.
