Work to transform The Shack on Stamford Recreation Ground into a multi-purpose community hub has moved a step closer
thanks to just over £17,500 from the Government Shared Prosperity Fund, together with £15,000 from Stamford Town Council. The building will also become a new base for George’s Food Hub and potentially for the new Stamford Shed project. Old windows and doors will be replaced with energy efficient double glazed units, modern heating and lighting will be installed along with accessible toilets And a general improvement of the interior. A volunteer working group has been formed to drive the project forward. They're appealing for donations of materials and more expertise to help them make the improvements.
