South Kesteven District Council is getting ready for kerbside recycling of old batteries from this Monday.
Leave them in a small clean freezer or nappy bag tied to the lid of your wheelie bin on your collection day, whichever bin it is. People that don't use their own wheelie bins, such as flats with communal bins or people in the centre of Stamford, who use bagged collections will still need to take their batteries back to recycling points in supermarkets, shops, or the household recycling centres. Any batteries that can't be removed from an appliance will also need to be recycled separately and vapes can’t be accepted on kerbside recycling either.
