Rutland and Stamford's MP says she's optimistic the government has listened to Rutlander's over local government reorganisation
and has had assurance from the minister in charge that officials are working closely with lawyers to find a way of protecting Rutland’s Ceremonial County status. Alicia Kearns spoke to Jim McMahon yesterday and says we need them to commit to a specific course of action that will give certainty after she handed over more than 7,000 signatures calling for Rutland to continue to be recognised as a Ceremonial County, no matter how the councils may join up in the future.
