Regular drivers of the A1 from Rutland and Stamford are being invited to a public meeting a week tonight organised by Alicia Kearns in a bid to make the road safer.
Some of the measures the MP has campaigned about include introducing a new road sign to urge drivers to move into the right hand lane, near a short slip road and also working with National Highways to drive the Great North Road, including looking at closing central reservation gaps for turning. Nearly 1000 people have signed a petition calling for safety improvements. It is being held on the 15th of November at 6:00 PM at South Witham Village Hall. The petition and an RSVP to the meeting are on Alicia Kearns website.
