Users of the O2 mobile network in parts of Rutland, Stamford, Bourne and east Leicestershire should be experiencing faster data speeds
and hopefully better signal thanks to upgrades completed on masts. 5G is now available on the network in Cottesmore, Morcott, Pilton, Ketton and Oakham, as well as Hallaton, Billesdon, Noseley and Tilton on the Hill. A new site to Edenham near Bourne has been installed thanks to the Shared Rural Network programme and the Stamford site has had 4G and 5G upgrades. In Whissendine there's been a capacity improvement on 4G. Rutland and Stamford MP Alicia Kearns has written to all these CEO's of the mobile phone networks in a bid to improve signals across Rutland and Stamford specially where her surveys showed mobiles don't work well. She says she's working on other local areas to get coverage improvements.
