Oakham in Bloom is considering moving the Wicker Spitfire from the bypass to somewhere that's easier to maintain.
They're also searching for a treasurer. Their previous volunteer responsible for finance was Paul Buxton, who served as an Oakham Town Councillor too, and passed away a few months ago. Chair of Oakham in Bloom, Sheila Cunningham, says it's not too arduous for anyone with a head for figures to help the organisation.
"So in desperate need for a treasurer, I know they're highly sought after special people. If someone can join us, is at all interested, it's not arduous. We don't have like regular fees or whatever, we have monthly meetings, doing a sort of report for that, looking after our bank account and building society account, and yeah, we just need someone to join us. So if anyone's just interested, please contact me."
