A new wing at HMP Stocken in Rutland is part of the extra capacity the Government says is needed to take some of the rioters being arrested from across the country in the current unrest.
It is the first part of 500 new prison places being created nationally and is opening in the next few days. It was already part of the prison's expansion but the Ministry of Justice says it will help fulfil their needs over the next few weeks.
