As the deadline looms for councils to tell the government their preferred makeup of new larger authorities in local government reorganisation, Rutland is pressing ahead with a formal nomination of the next three High sheriffs.
Susannah Fish is expected to take over from Richard Chesterfield in April next year, followed by Sue Ball and Hilary Fox over the following two years. Meetings are being held over the next 10 days to determine what councils will put forward to government and in the case of Rutland, who prefers to join with.
