A garden that has been open for over 20 years has its fundraiser for the National Garden Scheme this afternoon.
The Old Vicarage is home to the Lord Lieutenant and her husband, and they're also teas raising money for St Andrews Church in Whissendine. The sign parking in a nearby field in the attraction is open between 2:00pm and 5:00pm this afternoon. Dr Sarah Furness says these scents and smells of summer are there to discover.
This year is going to be particularly special because of the wonderful weather. We've got wisteria, peonies, roses, all sorts of things out and actually I never open in June because that's when my birthday is and it's hard work getting ready. But actually this time people will be seeing a June garden and things that is smelling so lovely. We've got lilacs out and the scents you can pick up. It's coming across the lawn and sweet rocket and things. It's beautiful. I love it’.
