Rutland's Police and Crime Commissioner says the Government decision to scrap his role in all counties by 2028
is a dark day for policing by consent. Rupert Matthews accusing them of a rushed and retrograde decision. He says the potential lack of scrutiny on police forces is a huge concern. The Government says it will save at least £100,000,000 with the savings going back into frontline policing.
