A leading choral composer and arranger is at Oakham School Chapel tonight to hear the UK premiere of one of his works,
inspired by poetry of Cornish writer Charles Causley. David Hill’s IKON Singers are performing wIth the Oakham School Chamber Choir and Rutland Youth Choir in a special concert this evening. John Rutter, who celebrated his 80th birthday yesterday, will be there too to hear the country's first performance of his work, Dancing Tree. The combined choir will also sing Herbert Howells, Requiem and King David. Young musicians from Oakham School and Rutland Youth Choir will also take part in a pre-concert workshop and perform a combined piece alongside the professional musicians.
