You're being asked to give an RAF veteran a warm welcome to Tesco in Oakham this lunchtime as he visits just 19 of the supermarket stores.
He's walking and cycling 500 miles over 15 days for Combat Stress, a mental health charity for the Forces. Today the halfway point is in Oakham. The Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff and standard bearers will be at the store on South Street. Chris McDowell is a maintenance technician for Tesco and spent 20 years in the Air Force. He's also carrying a three kilogramme medicine ball which he says symbolises the weight carried by people with mental health struggles.
