It's been recommended a banking hub opens in Stamford once Lloyds closes early next year.
Lloyds Group is closing 49 branches. The one on Stamford High Street is expected to shut on the 20th of January. Santander will be the only remaining bank in town alongside the Barclays banking hub at the Town Hall. Both only open three days a week, with Santander going down to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays back in June this year. It's reported Cash Access UK has been approached to investigate opening a hub similar to their one in Oakham, which has a cash machine and specialists from different banks five days a week.
