Police are continuing to do more on road safety In Rutland and Stamford through December to guard against what they call the 'fatal four'.
Driving under the influence of drink and drugs, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone whilst driving. Last week Lincolnshire Police stopped 35 vehicles in Bourne and Market Deeping. Over half were speeding. They also reported a driver for a defective light, one for having no insurance and several for not wearing a seatbelt. Also, some using a mobile phone at the wheel. Rutland Police were in Great Casterton yesterday monitoring speeds in the 30 and 40 mile an hour zones after concerns from the parish council. They also visited Stretton along with Rutland County Council to discuss potential improvements to help road safety.
