Rutland and Lincolnshire have joined together with eleven other local authorities to gain government funding to install electric car charging points where there's limited off street parking.
Lincolnshire helped lead the latest bid. The total awarded through Midlands Connect is over £40m. Rutland secured just over £0.25m, Lincolnshire over £5.5m. Over 16,000 charging points are being installed across the region. It's estimated nearly a third of motorists don't have a driveway to install their own charging point.
