Councillor Gale Waller spoke after the cabinet meeting that saw a 140 home development on Brooke Road Oakham be removed from the Council's list of proposed sites for the local plan
The Leader of Rutland County Council says the strength of public feeling against a potential development on Brooke Road in Oakham wasn’t the main reason councillors voted to take the proposal out of the list of sites for the forthcoming local plan, it was more that they couldn’t make it safe for residents and nearby schoolchildren.
Councillor Gale Waller says it wasn’t just Quarry Farm they left in, also the Officers mess development at Edith Weston, both of which have hundreds of objections. Councillor Waller told Rob Persani the reasons behind the decision and Rob asked about the future of St George's Barracks and the rumours that Labour may increase Rutland's housing allocation to maybe double:
