The food bank in Rutland has helped more people this spring and summer than the same time last year,
and they expect to see an increase in the autumn too. Around 1/3 of those they've helped are new to the community service which is staffed by volunteers. Since the 1st of April, they've processed 235 referrals and through their seven day food packs, distributed ingredients for nearly 11,500 meals across Rutland, not including pet food, which they also supply to those who need it. As Harvest Festival collections begin to take place, the Rutland Food Bank has released a wish list of items they'd like to see donated, including items for lunch pack ups as well as tins of meat and vegetables.
