Rutland Morris organise a Have a Go Day

Source: Rutland Morris Facebook page

Rutland Morris has a chance for potential dancers and musicians to join them on their Have a Go Day today.

After a three hour workshop those taking part will give an informal performance to their family and friends. Root and Branch are also joining them. They have been the Morris’s fundraising good cause this year. Squire of Rutland Morris John Barsby says their Have a Go Days at Ashwell Village Hall each year have proven to be very successful.

‘People want to come along to that fit and able and keen and we will look to have people able to dance out with us over Boxing Day at Manton and Uppingham as normal. There was a time when we were a good deal younger when we dance all night as well and stay over in Exton Village Hall. The hope is that with our recruitment where we've got new members with us this year, we had some last year, so if we can get the average age down and the fitness in people's legs up then maybe we can get back to that as well’.
