A number of shops in Stamford are turning the town pink this week in support of Cancer Research UK. Burghley Park and Peterborough Ladies Fundraising Group are marking 50 years of fundraising.
They raise money for The Cambridge Research Centre. A dozen shops in the town are decorated in support of the initiative. Treasurer Jo Keogh says it's just the start for them.
'Twelve shops that have signed up. I've looked so far at six that have already done their windows, a couple more that are actually doing them. Sinclair's have a fantastic window. Energy, B Boutique, the Cancer Research shop and some that couldn't get involved because they are chains have said if we get in touch with them to give them about 8 months notice they will build it in for next year. So I'm hoping it will be a growing campaign’.
