With just a week to go to the community meeting to discuss the proposed Mallard Pass Solar Farm, the company representative who was due to attend the meeting has suddenly pulled out. Rutland’s MP, Alicia Kearns, who organised the meeting explained to Rutland and Stamford Sound her dismay at the eleventh hour cancellation.
Rutland’s MP says that she is disappointed that a meeting she organised to help residents find out more about the Mallard Pass Solar Farm has seen a representative from the company pull out with just a week to go. Alicia Kearns says a space will remain for them on Thursday 7th April at Essendine Village Hall and that she doesn’t understand their decision.
“I think it’s really quite something to claim to want meaningful consultation and to be honest and open with the community, to then cancel a week before the event.” Alicia commented “It’s incredibly disappointing but if they change their mind there will still be a chair for them and we will go ahead.”
