Whistle Down The Wind

Stamford welcomes back the Funfair

After a two year absence, all the fun of the fair returns to Stamford this week at the Rec.

The first funfair in Stamford for over two years is taking place this week on Stamford Recreation Ground. The event, which has been held in October for over thirty years, is being trialled in the summer holidays this year. Organiser and showman Ashley Woods told Rutland and Stamford Sound it was one of his favourite events. His family has been a part of the fair for many generations and has enjoyed a long history with Stamford.

The fair runs from Wednesday 18th August to Sunday 22nd August and the rides open at 1.30pm each day until mid evening.
