A musical based around the soundtrack of The Proclaimers opens tonight at Stamford Corn Exchange.
Sunshine on Leith tells the story of two soldiers returning from duty in Afghanistan and is set in both Leith and Edinburgh. It is being performed by local Ink Contemporary Theatre and runs nightly until Saturday with a matinee as well. The cast say it manages to blend lighter moments with some quite heavy subjects.
‘They work really well as there's a good balance I think. It is not the sort of show that you're gonna go home sort of teary eyed. I think there's enough joy and comedy but there's also that little bit of a sort of thought provoking and yeah maybe misty eye sort of moments as well’.
