Oakham Town Council is meeting tonight to discuss the temporary crisis in staffing with both the Clerk and Deputy Clerk off ill.
It is proposed town councillors take on some of their duties where appropriate, but also that they pay Uppingham Town Council to provide four hours of assistance each week. They're also hoping to recruit a part-time Events Officer to support the Deputy Clerk so she can spend more time supporting the Clerk. He himself has increased his hours to enable him to engage in more training. The Events Officer will also help with the new Discover Oakham website set to launch soon.
